New Hindi Dub comes to Sony Yay on May 12th
Sony Yay has officially announced on its social media accounts that it will begin airing the popular sci-fi survival Adventure anime TV series Dr. Stone from May 12, every Monday to Friday at 11 PM. The series will feature a brand-new regional dub, tailored to appeal to a broader Indian audience.
While the subtitled version of the anime is already accessible via Ani-One Asia, Ani-One India YouTube channels, Netflix, Prime Video, and Crunchyroll, this will be the first time Indian viewers can experience the show in a newly dubbed version on national TV. Notably, Crunchyroll has been streaming regional dubbed versions since May last year, making the series accessible to fans in multiple Indian languages.
Sony Yay has been one of the major forces behind most of this boom, successfully premiering a chain of anime series on its platform. Beginning with the tried and tested Naruto and making its way through Beyblade, Pokémon, and comparatively recently, the horror action series Jujutsu Kaisen—which had its first broadcast on the channel last month—the reactions have been humongous.
With Dr. Stone joining the roster now, Sony Yay is increasing its anime roster and placing big stakes on dubbed anime content being sought after. The social media preview has already generated a huge fuss, and audiences cannot wait to enjoy the sci-fi adventures with a voice that they can relate to.
This growth continues to make further progress toward making global anime series part of the Indian mainstream, and all signs would be pointing toward still more anime programs being broadcast on Indian television in the months and years to come.
