Get Get ready for an epic anime night with Crunchyroll Starting  May 10th  only on   Sony Pix HD !

Culver Max Entertainment Private Limited [ Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) ] has entered in to a new strategic partnership with Crunchyroll to bring a dedicated anime block to Sony PIX, targeting English-speaking anime fans in India.

From May 10, Sony will telecast Anime shows under ‘ Crunchyroll Amazing Anime ‘ between 11pm – 12am everyday on Sony PIX SD/HD. The hour-long block will feature a mix of popular Crunchyroll’s Acquired anime titles like The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash, Bucchigiri , The God of High School, Radiant, Metallic Rouge and more.Sony PIX is currently running promotional campaign on the channel to build anticipation for the block. The promo prominently feature characters from The God of High School , Bucchigiri , Metallic Rouge, and Radiant, .The promotional efforts highlight the diversity of the upcoming block, blending action, comedy, and fantasy to appeal to a wide audience of English-speaking anime fans.

Separately, SPNI’s kids cluster channel Sony YAY has been engaging young audiences by launching a Crunchyroll block on its channel last month, primarily focusing on youth enjoying regional dubbed content in languages like Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. Starting April 2, 2025, this block has been airing at 10:00 PM kicked off with popular titles such as Naruto, Naruto Shippuden and more more. Sony YAY aims to deepen its penetration among young regional viewers, offering a mix of action-packed and comedic anime that resonates with local cultural nuances.

This isn’t the first time they’ve launched a block dedicated to anime. Previously, they introduced Animax programming on the Sony Entertainment TV channel and AXN, targeting a young and diverse audience with the newly launched Animax channel.

Sony PIX’s block focuses on delivering a curated late-night experience for Indian viewers who prefer dubbed anime in English. This aligns with SPNI’s strategy to tap into the growing anime market in India, where English-speaking audiences have shown a strong appetite for accessible, high-quality anime content.The partnership also reflects Sony’s broader investment in anime as a global phenomenon.

Crunchyroll, a Sony-owned platform, has seen significant growth, boasting over 15 million subscribers and dominating the anime streaming market with hits like Solo Leveling, which was its most popular show in 2024.Crunchyroll’s also celebrating this month with Ani-May 2025 celebration, a month-long global event that began on May 1st, featuring 20 free-to-stream Both Subbed and Dubbed animes, new merchandise, and retail partnerships. By collaborating with Crunchyroll, Sony PIX aims to carve out a niche for itself among India’s anime fans, offering a tailored viewing experience that complements the platform’s existing entertainment lineup.
