The wait is finally over! Fans of Indian mythology and animation can rejoice as “Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama” is set to hit theaters across India on January 24, 2025.

Geek Pictures, which is distributing The Film theatrically in Indian cinemas in collaboration with AA Films and Excel Entertainment, has announced that the classic Japanese-Indian animated masterpiece , ” Ramayana : The Legend of Prince Rama “will return in stunning 4K resolution in Indian Cinemas on January 24 , 2025. The film will also feature newly produced Hindi, English, Tamil, and Telugu dubs, making it accessible to audiences across the country. The official trailer is scheduled for release on January 10, 2025.

Originally conceived as an Indo-Japanese co-production, it was directed and co-produced by Yugo Sako of Nippon Ramayana Film Co. First released in English, it was later dubbed into Hindi and turned out to be a huge hit when telecast on Cartoon Network in the early 2000s.

The Hindi version featured the voice talents of such acting legends as Arun Govil, famous for playing Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar’s television saga “Ramayan,” who provided the voice of Lord Ram, as well as Amrish Puri, who provided his booming voice to the role of Ravana. Music for the film was scored by Vanraj Bhatia, with character design by Moriyasu Taniguchi, art direction by Satoshi Matsuoka and animation direction by Kazuyuki Kobayashi.
