Anione India, Medialink Entertainment’s Indian arm, is a leading anime licensor and distributor that has licensed and distributed popular titles such as Jujutsu Kaisen, My Hero Academia, and Oshi no Ko across television networks like Sony Yay!, Cartoon Network, and Animax, as well as streaming platforms including Crunchyroll, Netflix, Anime Times (Prime Video), MX Player, and its official YouTube channel, has been paying close attention to fan feedback lately. The news post today on the official Anione India Instagram page reflects a direct reply to increased disapproval of the current Hindi dub.

The prior Hindi dub of Bleach (Ep- 1-51) & Thousand Year War  which were handled at Raghani Studio Mumbai for Medialink’s licensing, got a huge “black lashing” by fans just after the release on Jio hotstar & MX Player respectively.Audiences criticized the dub in so many ways:

The Hindi dub also has several problems, such as voice casting and emotionless delivery from the characters. The voice delivery is also very poor, with little or no modulation. The dialogues delivered by the characters seem very flat. In some scenes, it seems as if the actors have just translated the dialogues. There is also a problem with the sound mix and voice direction. The dubbing is also very slow. In some scenes, the characters have expressed very high emotions or spoken at a higher rate than usual in the original version. However, the Hindi dub shows the characters with a flat tone and at a very slow rate.

But However, what really turned up the heat was hardcore fans of the series, regional dubs fans, and all the popular anime creators and influencers in the Indian anime community jumping in on the issue and just going on and on about how it was in no way comparable to the top 3 shonen kings of the small screens in the good old days of Indian television—Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, and One Piece. The dubs on Cartoon Network, Sony Yay, and what have you were just the right blend of energy and timing with the voices of the characters being legendary in India. The fans were like, “What is going on with the dub of Bleach, one of the top 3 shonen series in the world?” The forums on Reddit and YouTube and all just further proved the point of how the dub of Bleach was just not on the same level as the other top 3 and was even a disappointment for fans of the series in India.

Though there are many YouTube videos and posts on YouTube , Facebook, Instagram & Reddit asking Medialink to either re-dub Season 1 or change studios for future seasons to match the quality expected from a worldwide phenomenon like Bleach. Although in today’s Instagram post  of Anione india Instagram Page, they acknowledged the fans’ concerns and confirmed the change :-

“Your voices were heard. A new cast. A new studio. A renewed commitment to delivering the experience you deserve. At Ani-One, we value your emotions and your passion for this iconic journey. Hold tight a big surprise awaits. #bleachhindidub
#bleachtamil #bleachtelugu “

However The studio hasn’t yet mentioned the fresh voice artists or the studio used for this new version of Bleach . The episodes from Episode 53 onwards can be expected in the coming weeks. Medialink has hinted at a quicker roll-out rate for the episodes to compensate for the waiting time. The decision by Anione India marks it as one of the few Indian licensers that is making amends according to fan feedback, much like they have done with dubs of other popular franchises.
