Sony YAY is set to make this Diwali extra special for young viewers with an exciting Shin Chan celebration. The channel will premiere the 2024 Shin Chan film Our Dinosaur Diary on Indian television for the first time on October 19th at 11 AM, followed by brand new episodes airing on October 20th at the same time.
This festive programming comes as part of Sony YAY’s continued expansion of its Shin Chan content library. After successfully acquiring broadcasting rights from Hungama TV for popular films including The Spy, Robot Dad, and Cactus Large Attack , the channel is now preparing to air three additional titles from the previous broadcasted channel: Very Tasty, Dark Tama, and Bungle in the Jungle.

Our Dinosaur Diary (2024) premieres on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at 11:00 AM, marking the first-ever Indian television premiere of the 2024 theatrical release. Never-before-seen episodes will follow on Monday, October 20, 2025 at 11:00 AM as part of the “Chhutti Ka Timetable” campaign.
As part of its continued expansion of the Shin Chan content library, Sony YAY is bringing more excitement to its viewers this festive season. After acquiring broadcasting rights from Hungama TV for popular titles such as The Spy, Robot Dad, and Cactus Large Attack, the channel is now set to air three additional films previously shown on Hungama TV: Very Tasty, Dark Tama, and Bungle in the Jungle. Earlier in 2025, Sony YAY premiered The Spy on May 24 and Robot Dad on May 25, both at 11:00 AM, marking the channel’s first-ever Shin Chan movie premieres on Indian television.
The festive film weekend continues with The Premiere of Brand New Shinchan Films like :- Shinchan the Movie: Food for Survival (titled Shin Chan in Very Very Tasty Tasty on Hungama TV), Shinchan the Movie: Bungle in the Jungle (titled Bungle in the Jungle on Hungama TV), and Shinchan: Dark Tama Tama (titled Shin Chan in Dark Tama Tama: Thrilling Chase on Hungama TV) airing on October 18, October 25, and October 26 respectively, in new regional languages on Sony YAY.
The strategic acquisition strengthens Sony YAY’s position in the children’s entertainment segment, offering fans of the beloved Japanese anime character an extensive collection of films and episodes. Shin Chan takes center stage with a 19% slot share on the channel, making it the most popular character in Sony YAY’s lineup.
