Discovery’s Cartoon Network India is turning up the action with the reintroduction of Big Block Anime, shifting its high-octane anime programming from a Sunday afternoon treat to a prime-time weeknight powerhouse. Starting tonight, the block will air Monday to Friday from 9 PM onwards, bringing non-stop adventures and epic battles to fans across the nation.
The lineup features iconic shonen hits including Dragon Ball Super, One Piece, Hunter x Hunter, Dragon Ball Z Kai, and My Hero Academia, all available in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam dubs, ensuring accessibility for audiences across India’s diverse regions.
Originally launched in January 2024 as a Sunday 1 PM block, Big Block Anime quickly captured the imagination of kids aged 6-14, offering stories of courage, resilience, and heroism. Now, Shifting to weeknights lets viewers dive deeper into Our Shonen Heroes’ adventures, fitting perfectly with after-school routines and turning ordinary evenings into epic anime showdowns.
The move puts Cartoon Network India in direct competition with Sony YAY!, which has long dominated evening anime slots with its ANiMAZiNG block and Crunchyroll collaborations, airing popular titles like Naruto Shippuden, Jujutsu Kaisen, Doctor Stone With regional dubs attracting massive audiences—including over 63 million viewers for Naruto alone.
