One of Asia’s leading anime licensors and distributors, Medialink Group, has officially announced that the highly anticipated anime films Attack on Titan: The Last Attack and Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death – The Movie will soon be coming to theaters in India. The announcement was made during the ANIME India Convention, held from August 22 to 24, where Medialink showcased two large Promotional Posters featuring the Official Key Visuals of Respective Films at their booth. Later, the company confirmed the news through an official Instagram story, urging fans to “stay tuned” for more updates.
Internationally, Sony Pictures/Crunchyroll and GKIDS handled the theatrical distribution of the films earlier this year. Attack on Titan: The Last Attack premiered on February 10 & Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death – The Movie was released on July 16.
Both films were made available in subtitled and dubbed formats for global audiences.
In Asia, Medialink is responsible for distributing the Jujutsu Kaisen movie in several Southeast Asian countries, including the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and more, with a regional rollout starting September 3.
On the other hand, Attack on Titan: The Last Attack was earlier released in Southeast Asia by Muse Communication in January, with screenings in Taiwan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Hong Kong. For India, however, Medialink holds the rights and has yet to disclose an official release date.
Given that Medialink is set to launch the Jujutsu Kaisen movie across Southeast Asia starting September 3, many believe that one or both films could make their way to Indian theaters as early as September, potentially overlapping or clashing with Sony/Crunchyroll’s Demon Slayer movie or Chainsaw Man the movie: Reze arc release.
While no exact release date for the Indian screenings has been revealed yet, this news brings joy for fans , especially those who had been demanding that Sony/Crunchyroll release the films in Indian theaters earlier this year, when they debuted nationwide across North America
