
Tetsuro Araki, the acclaimed director of Death Note,Attack on Titan and Highschool of The Dead, will be visiting India for the first time at Anime India in Mumbai in August, 2025

India’s largest Japanese anime convention, Anime India, is set to return in grand fashion from August 22–24 at the NESCO Bombay Exhibition Centre (Hall 1), Mumbai. Organized by AnimationXpress.com, the three-day event is expected to attract over 20,000 anime fans, cosplayers, artists, and creators from across the country.

Headlining the event is none other than Tetsuro Araki, the acclaimed director behind iconic anime series Attack on Titan and Death Note. Araki will participate in an exclusive 90-minute, interviewer-led session, as well as fan meet-and-greets and industry interactions with leaders from India’s anime community.

Joining Araki is Hideo Katsumata, President of Avex Pictures, the production powerhouse behind hits like Black Clover, Gachiakuta, Yuri!!! on ICE, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and Look Back, the 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards winner. Katsumata’s presence is expected to open doors for deeper India-Japan anime collaborations.Anime India 2025 will also feature the debut of Anime India Live House—India’s first ticketed anime concert.

Headlining the stage are popular Japanese artists Tsunko (voice of Aoi Miyake from D4DJ) and DJ Touko, known as “Japan’s cutest DJ.” More performers will be announced soon.Beyond performances and panels, the convention promises a wide array of activities inspired by international anime festivals.
