For the first time, the globally acclaimed anime series Dragon Ball Z will be available for streaming in India on Netflix, starting July 15, 2025. The platform has listed the show under its “New & Hot – Coming Soon” section on mobile app .
This will be the first official release of the original Dragon Ball Z series in India, and fans will be able to watch one of the most popular and longest-running anime series of all time. The series, which follows Goku’s journey as he discovers his Saiyan heritage and defends Earth alongside allies such as Gohan, Vegeta, and Piccolo against evil forces like Frieza, Cell and Majin Buu!
Apart from the original series release on Netflix, the remastered and edited HD version, Dragon Ball Z Kai, is also accessible to Indian viewers at the moment. The enhanced graphics and shorter version of the story is broadcast on Cartoon Network India for TV viewers and can also be streamed on Discovery Plus India in English and multiple Indian regional languages, significantly broadening its reach and accessibility across linguistic demographics.
The Newest addition to the franchise, Dragon Ball Daima, is streaming in India on Netflix and Crunchyroll too. There are certain notable differences, however, between the versions being made available:
Netflix India is putting out the series in its entirety in Japanese dub with English Subtitles where Crunchyroll India offers dubs in Japanese, English, and Regional languages like Hindi , Tamil & Telugu Dubs making it more widely accessible to the audience base.
