Sony YAY!, a leading children’s entertainment channel from Culver Max Entertainment ( Formerly Sony Pictures Entertainment ), has announced the television premiere of the globally acclaimed shonen anime Jujutsu Kaisen, marking its debut on Indian television screens for the First Time in newly dubbed versions across five regional languages—Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Bangla starting April 7, 2025, airing Monday to Friday at 9 PM. Concurrently, Crunchyroll India, which has been streaming the anime in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu since July 2023, will continue to provide access for on-demand viewers.
Sony YAY!, having previously aired Naruto Shippuden, continues to expand its anime portfolio with Jujutsu Kaisen. The Channel initiated a promotional campaign for Jujutsu Kaisen, releasing a short teaser poster with the caption “Coming Soon” followed by imminent broadcast announced for April 7, 2025, at 9 PM in Regional Languages
Crunchyroll India has been streaming Jujutsu Kaisen in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu since July 2023, offering fans a platform to watch the series with its original intensity. Sony YAY!’s television broadcast, however, will feature newly dubbed versions in five regional languages, tailored for a family-friendly audience. This dual-platform approach ensures the anime reaches both streaming subscribers and traditional television viewers.
Regulatory and Licensing Framework
The broadcast of Jujutsu Kaisen on Sony YAY! adheres to India’s television regulations under the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act, 1995, overseen by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB). Given the channel’s focus on children, the series has likely undergone edits to mitigate its violent and supernatural themes, ensuring compliance with age-appropriateness guidelines.
Sony YAY! has also revealed plans to expand its anime offerings, with Black Clover and Fullmetal Alchemist slated as upcoming releases. Both series, known for their popularity within the shonen genre, are expected to further strengthen the channel’s position as a key destination for anime on Indian television.
