Mumbai, India, March 26, 2024: Crunchyroll, the ultimate home for anime worldwide, is bringing one of the most followed anime Dragon Ball Super to India. Starting 29th March 2024 Indian anime fans can watch the series on Crunchyroll. All 131 episodes of Dragon Ball Super will be available in English dubs and subs.
The Dragon Ball phenomena began in 1984 when Japan’s well-known manga from the beloved late Akira Toriyama premiered in Shueisha’s “Weekly Shonen Jump” – becoming a top ranked title throughout its 10 and a half years of publication.The Dragon Ball Super English voice cast includes Sean Schemmel as Goku, Christopher R. Sabat as Piccolo and Vegeta, Matthew Mercer as Hit and David Gray as Zamasu.
Dragon Ball Super was premiered first on the Toonami channel in India with the Bang Zoom! dub on January 21, 2017, following a sneak preview of the English dub’s first episode on December 17, 2016. However, production on the Bang Zoom! dub ended after episode 27 as Toonami Asia and India ceased transmission. Subsequently, the dubbed episodes ran on the main Cartoon Network channel for some time, starting from April 16 in a late-night slot. Then, in May 2022, Cartoon Network began airing Dragon Ball Super in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu every Sunday, followed by the HD channel at 10:30. The first 26 episodes were licensed by Toei Asia-Pacific (Bang Zoom!), while the remaining 105 episodes were licensed by Toei itself using the Funimation dub.
Dragon Ball Super Synopsis:
After the defeat of Majin Buu, Goku and his friends enjoy a peaceful life until Beerus, the god of destruction, appears. Goku attempts to become a Super Saiyan God with his friends’ help but falls short against Beerus. Beerus reveals there are twelve universes, each with its own god of destruction. Goku and Vegeta train under Whis while facing new threats, including Frieza’s return with a new transformation. Goku battles Frieza as a Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan. The story expands beyond the universe into new dimensions, promising thrilling adventures.
